please, please, please, don't let this be the end...

...of daytime naps.
It seems that Miss C has decided that daytime naps are not her cup of tea.
My instinct is to fight it tooth and nail. She's way too young...she needs her naps. I have friends with 5 year olds who still have an afternoon nap.
With this in mind, yesterday when she refused to go down at 1 o'clock I decided it would be okay to try again later. It worked. She had a lovely long 2 hours from 3 until 5.
We had a little bit of a late night and didn't get home until 8:30. Now normally both pixies would be in bed by 8:30 at the latest. So I thought she would be good to go down at 9.
Boy was I w r o n g...
So after a good hour fighting her over it I gave up. Long story short...we went to bed at 11. She woke every hour until about 4 this morning and then I had to wake her at 8:45 to get Miss S to Kinder. She should be tired right??? She has again refused to take a nap and I'm am really hesitant to get her down any later than 2...which is about now.
Do I just have kids who don't like to sleep during the day, or is it my crap parenting?? Miss S gave up her daytime sleeps at 14 months...anyone care to guess how old C is???
I'm tired and grumpy. I just need some ME time, but I have a partner who thinks a fun hour for me is to go with him while he plays cricket or volleyball, so I can chase the kids around and keep them from getting in the way. Then I have to get them home and into bed before they have a meltdown. Fun fun fun.
Miss C is getting 4 molars all at once and she has a snotty nose, so I'm hoping it's just a temporary situation.
Please let it just be a temporary situation. Otherwise I may just go crazy.

The devil in question...just to remind myself that I love her no matter what!!

FOR TODAY... 22nd February 2010

Outside My Window...the sky is blue and the road is noisy with school traffic zooming past.

I am thinking...about too many things all at once. My head is a jumble of noise.

I am thankful for...Summer being almost over, I don’t like the hot weather.

From the kitchen...I have an oven that doesn’t like the hot weather, and when we have consecutive hot days it decides to not work.

I am wearing...track pants and a t-shirt, no shoes...but anyone that knows me would know that the no shoes is almost a permanent state.

I am creating...a nice little work space for my girls and I to be creative in.

I am do my grocery shopping this afternoon after Miss C has had a sleep. If we go in the morning we run out of time and she goes to sleep in the car, which isn’t a good situation because then I have to keep driving or she wakes up and won’t go back to sleep in bed.

I am reading...too many craft blogs, using all of my downloads and gleaning a lot of great ideas but not getting anything done of my own.

I am get some sewing done soon.

I am hearing...Playschool on the TV and Miss 3 telling Miss 14 months to “go away”!!

Around the house...dishwasher is running, clothes are washed and folded.

One of my favourite things...Laying down to breastfeed the 2nd Pixie for her daytime nap, and having a little snooze myself.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...I don’t think I should make plans anymore, they never come to fruition.

Celebrate the Boy

Over at MADE and Made by Rae it's Celebrate the Boy month for all of Febraury. It leaves me wishing that I had a little boy in my life so I could join in all the fun. All of the tutorials look great, and there is no reason why I can't use some of the brilliant ideas to create some stuff for my Princesses.

Go check it out

Daybook Monday

FOR TODAY... 15th February 2010

Outside My Window...My girls are playing nicely together

I am thinking...That I really should be doing the housework instead of sitting in front of the computer, AGAIN

I am thankful for...the fact that I managed to get all my groceries for under $200 this week.

From the kitchen...Donuts from Coles...just a little treat, as long as I don't eat all six of them :)

I am wearing...Cargo pants and a jumper, which I am considering changing because it's starting to warm up.

I am creating...Nothing...but I really need to start on a quilt I promised someone...only 4 months to go.

I am going...To start cooking dinner...because I forgot about Daybook Monday and it's now 5 in the afternoon.

I am reading...Still trying to get through my book, but also the current Better Homes and Gardens of which I am immeasurably dissappointed in. Feel guilty for wasting my money on it.

I am hoping...that Mr Pixies will get home from work soon.

I am hearing...A little bit of peace and quiet while the girls are mostly outside.

Around the house...The housework refuses to do itself, and my sewing room isn't making much progress either.

One of my favorite things...A clean kitchen ALWAYS makes me happy.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: I WILL pack some books up and give some away to charity. I WILL clean my dining table so we can have people over for dinner. I WILL tell my girls that I love them every day.
I think I also need to organise a skip bin to have a bit of a Spring clean in Summer...there is only so much STUFF that can fit into a small 2 bedroom house. Declutter...streamline...simplify.

They are growing up so fast.

Just because...

my last post was so serious.

What do you do when it's hot and then it rains.
You go outside and play in the mud of course.
Oh my!!! What a mess they made...but it was fun and it was still warm and I got some of my sewing room orgainsed. Oh and they got to have a warm bath when Mum thought ennough was enough.

This one had her first proper kinder session today...
I thought I would be sad...but all I felt was a little bit of nervousness...for her and me.
Two hours went by extraordinarily quickly...I got the kitchen cleaned...and it was time to go pick her up.
I think she had fun.

One more photo...
just because...

A little bit sad

Tonight I will light a candle for my angel{dos}...It has been two years since you left little one and still you occupy my thoughts every day. I wish with all my heart that we could have met. That I could have birthed you and seen you grow. To witness your first cry, first smile, first laugh, first word. I mourn the loss of a future I will never know. I will never know if you where a boy or a girl, what colour your hair would be, what sort of personality you would have. I will never know how you would have changed the dynamics of our lives. I do know that you will shine on forever in my heart. That I will always think about you and what could have been.

As the time draws nearer for me to start thinking about whether I want to try for a third baby, I think of my angels more and wonder if I can live through that all consuming grief again. Will the possibility of experiencing that pain again be enough to steer me away from the desire for another life to love? Will I forever regret it if we don't try again? In some ways experiencing 2 losses has made me a stronger person but it's not something that you ever wish for. The jury is still out!! The other thing to consider is whether I really want to put our family through the assisted conception wringer again. I turn into not such a nice person with the stress of trying to conceive and the clomid...I don't want it to be intensive, I just want it to "happen". Then there's the idea of giving up breastfeeding C...I'm just not ready for that yet. I always said "not until she turns 2", but i will turn 35 in September and time is ticking away. Indecisive, procrastinating, confused, scared.

Daybook Monday

FOR TODAY 8th February 2010...

Outside My Window...the sun is blaring down on the dry brown grass.

I am thinking...about the upcoming second anniversary of my second misscarriage

I am thankful 3 year old starting kinder on Friday, she needs the company of other children and I need a break, albeit short. I'm looking forward to lots of artwork to put on the kitchen wall.

From the kitchen...Just finished the grocery shopping so we are well stocked...Salad tonight because it's too hot for anything else.

I am wearing...A singlet and undies...did I mention the heat :)

I am creating...A birthday present for my soon to be 8 year old niece.

I am the doctor this afternoon for some blood test results (a little scared).

I am reading...Bomber, From Vietnam to Hell and back...on loan from my Father in law, like it so far, just struggling to find time to actually read it

I am hoping...that the blood tests don't show anything serious.

I am 3 year old reading to her sister.

Around the are scattered all over the floor and all the curtains are closed against the heat.

One of my favorite things...Hot Coffee to drink while I blog.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Get some photos up on my almost bare walls, clear the junk off my sewing machine so I can create and look forward to taking S to her first proper day of Kinder.

A photo to share...

I discovered The Simple Womens Daybook idea on Cinderberry Stiches and thought it was a great idea to follow along. It will provide me with impetus to reflect on the simple things now and at the end of the year...and gives me an excuse to blog at least once a week.

A little Valentines Day project that Miss 3 can wear all year round.

It's kind of a take on Candy Hearts, but I didn't really think "be mine" was an appropriate slogan for a young girls Tee.

So grateful...

...for these goregeous little creatures.
I love my girls.
